Service Requirements
For the 2020-2021 swim year, Dads Club is requiring an 8 hour service commitment for every family with swimmers on the USA Swim team. If we are not able to provide enough opportunities for service hours as the season progresses compared to previous years, we could lower the requirement.
The swim year begins in August after the summer break and ends at the end of July. Below is the breakdown for the hours required and the fee for not working any hours. The fee is prorated for any hours earned that are less than the full requirement ($50 per missing hour).
Season Hours Required Fee for 0 hours
Whole year (September - July) 8 $400
Short Course, only 5 $250
September - March
Long Course, only 3 $150
April - July
The vast majority of available service hours can be earned at swim meets. If Dads Club is attending a swim meet, the jobs will be Lane Timers. If Dads Club is hosting a Gulf swim meet, many more jobs are available to earn hours working jobs such as Concession Sales, Awards Desk, Announcer, Head Timer, Runner, Safety Monitor, etc.
Occasionally there are a few opportunities to work volunteer/service jobs outside of swim meets, such as the Swim Marathon, Hot Chocolate Fridays, or Volunteer Days. Please note that the non-meet job opportunities are rare compared to the jobs available at swim meets.
